On first start you choose a master password. Everything you keep in EasyKeys is encrypted with it. It is not stored or sent anywhere – if you forget it, nobody can open the vault, not even us.
If you already have a backup, for example from another device, bring it in here with Restore backup. This only works while there is no vault on the device yet.
The vault locks as soon as you leave the app. Two exceptions give you 30 seconds:
If it takes longer, you see the unlock screen when you return. A choice that arrived while the vault was locked is not lost: the screen names it and carries it out after unlocking. An entry you were editing is discarded when the vault locks. The lock icon at the top of the list locks right away.
Under Settings → Unlock with fingerprint you turn on biometrics. The key of your vault is then stored on the device, behind the biometric check. You still need your master password:
Restarting the device does not turn it off.
Under Settings → Master password you enter the current and the new password. The vault is re-encrypted with the new one; your data stays as it is.
Under Settings → Appearance you choose light, dark or same as system, one of three colour schemes (forest green, burgundy, deep blue) and what each card in the list shows below the title (username, tags). This choice belongs to the device and is not part of the backup.
