What the app can do

Make pocket money reliable – and easy to follow. Parents set the rules, the app books them on its own, and the child can see their own account at any time: what came in, what went out, and why.

For parents

For children

Every change to a rule appears as an entry in the child's account, with the old and the new value. Lowering the interest rate is not done quietly – and that is deliberate: the app is meant to reflect a promise, not to be a black box.

What the app does not do

It does not ask for a surname, a date of birth or an age; a nickname is enough. It contains no advertising and no ad SDK. Children do not need a Google account – a child's device is paired by the parents with a one-time code. And it has no connection to a real bank: this is about pocket money within the family.

Full version

You can try the app in full for three months. One month after it ends, the account rules are reset to their basic setting: pocket money capped at €10 a month, no interest – and you can no longer add entries of your own. Your child's balance, their account history, the payday and the advance are untouched, and nothing changes on their device. The app tells you the date well in advance.

With the full version your settings stay exactly as you made them. It also decides whether new savings goals and requests can be created, how many designs there are, and it unlocks the parent and child interface in the browser. It is a yearly subscription; the current price is shown in the Play Store.

Background

Why pocket money

In 2023 the European Commission and the OECD network for financial education (OECD-INFE) published a joint competence framework for children and youth. It stresses the importance of laying the foundations of financial literacy at a young age and sets out competences from six years old – explicitly also “from the earliest possible age”. One of its four content areas is planning and managing finances, with saving as its own building block; the aim is well-informed decisions about one’s own money.

This app is not a teaching programme and has no affiliation with either institution. It reflects what a family agrees anyway – and makes it easy for the child to follow.
