Download on Google PlayThe Dice Round is Dice's local multiplayer mode: several of you play at once, each on your own phone – with no internet at all.
One player opens a round, everyone else joins it – the phones just need to be near each other (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi). Whoever opens it acts as the host: the game state lives on their device and everyone else receives it from there. You still roll for yourself, though – whoever's turn it is taps on their own phone, and everyone else watches the move live.
Joining is a choice on both sides: whoever wants to join sees the games nearby as a list and taps the right one – so with two open rounds in the same room nobody ends up in the wrong one by accident. The host then gets a prompt with that name and decides whether to let them in or decline. Until then the guest sees Waiting for …; a refusal leads back to the list without restarting the search.
If a player does not have the app yet, Share the app with friends helps – that line sits both on the Dice Round choice and in the lobby below the player list, and sends the Play Store link.
The Dice Round works completely offline – no Wi-Fi router, no mobile data, no sign-up. Perfect for a car ride, the train, a waiting room, the beach, or anywhere without a signal.
Dice Poker, Roll or Bust, House Numbers, Chicago, and Mia can all be played as a Dice Round – that is, every game except free rolling.
How much the others get to see differs from game to game: in Mia each player only sees their own hidden roll, in House Numbers you can keep everyone's digits hidden, and Chicago is always played open – there, everybody knows every roll.
If a player's connection drops, their device spends about half a minute trying to rejoin automatically; if that works, play continues right where you left off. If they don't come back, the round waits a little longer and then the host plays their turn so the game doesn't stall. Should they reappear later, they get their seat back.
If the host leaves the round or loses connection, however, the round is over for everyone: the host role does not move on. You can simply open a new round then.
